Urban Mushing

Might be silly, but might be the best way to exercise Kala. Check out the link above, and also: DogScooter.com (unfortunately, they have an annoying soundtrack when you first hit their main page). There’s also this, though I don’t know if that will work for us or not …

Cool Tool: Books That Changed My Life

Kevin Kelly’s list of books that changed his life. Interesting list. There’s also links to other lists, of which I’m particularly intrigued by Eric Rawlins’ (and, no, it’s not just because he’s a Data Architect ).

How to buy a camera lens

Rick LaPage from MacWorld with a great overview of what to look for when buying a camera lens.

What is good tequila?

Great, not too long, primer on tequilas. I’m really liking the Corzo (all flash, unfortunately, so beware) Reposado that we have right now. But, now I have a list of what to try next!

History of the Color Wheel

Short article, but lots of great links with great information on the color wheel. Finally understand why computers use red-green-blue instead of the primary colors (red, yellow, blue).

Six Essential Language Agnostic Programming Books

Always good to have a list like this lying around … There’s also this, later, post. (Via Scott Hanselman’s Computer Zen.)

Take Control of Your Maps

Not sure I’m going to be writing my own mapping application anytime too soon. But you never know. If nothing else, the pieces inside here would be good to know. (Via A List Apart.)

Moving over to Git

Got to keep Git in mind. If it really works as described, it would be the perfect version control system. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to check something in, but have been afraid I’d break something/one else, either because it wasn’t “complete” yet (but the changes were big and complex enough I [...]

Underdog Sports Leagues

Right now I’m really only interested in their Ultimate league, but definitely a place to watch. OK, dodgeball, kickball and volleyball could be fun also … but I’m really hoping for softball and/or soccer.
